Mokum is the Yiddish word for “place” or “safe haven”.
We are committed to our neighborhood, our farmers and suppliers, and our team by serving delicious food, without pretension, all day long.
So whenever you need the warmth of a good meal and a friendly community, Mokum is here for you.
Mokum welcomes neighbors and friends to the Upper West Side with internationally-inspired dishes showcasing the finest local ingredients.
A partnership between healthy living enthusiast Tea Zegarac Pollock and fellow Upper West Sider, Chef Benjamin Vaschetti, Mokum is a full-service gathering space for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that nourishes both mind and body.
From our just-baked morning pastries to our signature ratatouille, Mokum offers something for everyone and every occasion, providing an ever-changing, seasonal menu reflective of Chef Vaschetti’s Michelin-star training.
Stop in to enjoy our hand-selected artisanal products, sip slowly through our expertly curated wines and cocktails, enjoy a meal overlooking the kitchen, or simply grab a coffee and bite to go. Whether you’re looking for a special place to settle in between museum stops, a romantic nook for date night, or a friendly, neighborhood spot, we look forward to becoming an extension of your home.
Mokum is a comfortable place of repose poised at the intersection of restaurant and home, brought to life by Matthew Baird Architects. Our centerpiece is a custom tapestry made exclusively for our space by the Dutch artist and textile designer, Claudy Jongstra. Using the ancient technique of felting, the piece immerses you in the richness and diversity of a vivid landscape that celebrates the harmony between humans, nature, and food.
